What is happening when you are diagnosed with Carpal Syndrome? This tunnel in your wrist is a bony area with space for blood vessels and nerves to pass through. When the space becomes blocked with debris due to swelling in your tissues (or sometimes a crushing injury) the nerves and blood vessels get pinched. This causes numbness in your hand and the area around your carpal tunnel because nerves DO NOT like to be squashed or pinched.
If you have this condition in your hands, there's a good chance you have pain elsewhere, too. Many other symptoms you may experience along the way may be connect with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome because every part of your body is attached to every other part. All the parts work together. This means you most likely have headaches, backaches, pain in your neck or shoulders, migraines, jaw pain or TMJD.
