
Human beings need a certain amount of exercise every day to stay in the best of health. The benefits are many and consistent and regular exercise will pay huge dividends, especially in later life. The benefits include a healthy heart and lungs, lower cholesterol blood pressure levels, help with maintaining proper levels of insulin.
Basic walking is a great way to get the heart pumping and pushing blood through the arteries. Unfortunately, where I live, for a lot of the winter months, the sidewalks are covered with ice. As for our busy lives, we don't always factor in time to go for a walk. For me and many others, a treadmill is the best solution.
Also, with a treadmill, you can listen to music, read a book or magazine, or watch television which makes time go by. Before you know it, you have walked the necessary time to make a difference.
