There are so many causes of back pain that careful diagnosis is needed if a cure is to be achieved and further damage avoided. One of the commonest reasons for back pain is a trapped or pinched nerve. A physician will be able to identify the cause of the problem and will suggest an appropriate course of treatment.
The nerves can be compressed, stretched, inflamed, or constricted and each cause will need careful attention. It sometimes happens that the nerves are irritated because they are constricted by the bordering tendons, bones and muscles. Such a state of affairs will eventually cause discomfort in the back. This will increase significantly if it goes without treatment for any length of time. The commonest symptoms of a trapped or pinched nerve range from a tingling sensation through to numbness, muscle spasms or cramps which ends with a generally painful experience.
